So our most recent article on dieting from the prestigious medical journal, the JAMA, calendar year tells us that in a study enduring one, people lost the most weight on the Atkins diet. By the end of a season, the 77 women assigned to an average has been lost by the Atkins band of 10.4 pounds. Those designated to LEARN lost 5.7 pounds, the Ornish supporters lost 4.8 pounds and women on the Zone lost 3.5 pounds, typically.

Did anyone notice that the year final results on a non-diet like this of Dr. Oz where you cut 100 calorie consumption a day, guarantees a similar lead to the “best diet”, the Atkins diet? We also must go through the funding of these studies – I suspect the Atkins company may have funded that one.

Because in a study funded by Weight Watchers by Stanley Heshka, experts found that, people on an average have been lost by the Weight Watchers diet of 11 lbs in the first 12 months. However, in the second year, the picture had changed a little. The average weight Loss on Weight Watchers was down to 7 lbs overall. For it seems that the best ongoing scam in the American society today is the myth that ANY diet works! One wonders why we continue to buy into this rip-off when for the majority of us, diets have failed.

So the best scam in history, diets, a year in America only upon which people spend some 45 BILLION dollars, continues with willing repeat customers! And that is, I guess because none folks want to understand our systems basically control our weight rather than US. We’d rather berate ourselves for being “pigs” or having “no character” and then, go and buy the next diet to bolster our desperate hope that we, too, will somehow be magically in a position to attain the mythical “perfect body”.

But is a perfect body one that being effective, or one that appears like a model? Hanging out with people who seriously restrict calories to stay slim shows that MOST of these do NOT enjoy very good health. So when we are unwell in bed or chronically fatigued, it really doesn’t matter how fat or slim we are.

Here in America, we have increasing numbers of young people falling dead from a sudden heart attack and are also riddled with autoimmune diseases like LUPUS and Fibromyalgia and CFS. Some estimations theorize that 1 in 100 has some kind or kind of persistent pain syndrome. So not only has our affinity to constantly diet NOT rendered many of us “slim”, it might also be an element in the -not so good- public health observed today in America.
